Dream Scholarship Program
Details
In 2019, Opendoor Church launched the Dream Scholarship Program. This program is dedicated to empowering the youth of Pitt County and enabling them to break free from the cycle of generational poverty and achieve their full potential.
The mission is to equip every student and family with the tools and resources they need to overcome adversity and aspire to "God-sized dreams." Our heart is to bridge the gap between school and home, forming partnerships with students, families, educators, and social workers to foster comprehensive growth in all aspects of their lives.
Currently, the program serves 35 students in 1st - 5th grade. Within our safe and nurturing environment, students receive one-on-one homework assistance, including tutoring and mentoring, and engage in various activities that encourage wellness in all aspects of life, such as physical activity, creativity and spiritual growth. The Dream Scholarship Program doesn't just aim for academic success; we strive to cultivate well-rounded individuals who can rise above their circumstances and dream beyond limitations.
How you can help:
- Serve by mentoring or tutoring DSP kids
- Donate once or monthly to support DSP students
- Purchase items from the Amazon Wish List to provide for students as they return to school
